Normandy British Airborne 1 Day Tour

This tour begins on the Eastern most flank of the Allied invasion sector – the objective for British 6th Airborne Division was to secure what was known as The Orne Bridgehead. Paras and gliderborne troops began dropping into Normandy from just after midnight on the night of the 5/6 June 1944 and began securing strategically important towns, villages, crossroads and bridges behind enemy lines. Hear the personal stories of men dropped far and wide from their allocated drop zones and the truly remarkable stories of how the Dives River Bridges were blown. All drop zones are visited as well as the famous Merville Battery and Pegasus Bridge. Many other stops are added where various skirmishes took place, often against the German 21. Panzer Division and in most cases against the battlegroup under command of the famous Prussian commander, Major Hans von Luck.
This battle was raging in small pockets everywhere!
This tour has been designed to give a comprehensive overview of the actions of the British 6th Airborne Division on D-Day and the war of attrition that followed in this very precarious area of the invasion.

Louie & Keith Gordon

Hi Gary, We just wanted to thank you once again for an amazing day – it was the highlight of our trip to France – I am just overwhelmed by all that we saw and did that day. What an awe inspiring experience to be where so many fought and lost their lives so we can enjoy the freedom we have today – I will never forget it – I am encouraging all I know to make that trip. It was very emotional for my Uncle when we shared the photos and our experiences. Once again we can never thank you enough for taking us around – it would never have been the same without you there. Your knowledge and passion brought that whole day to life for us – and brought understanding of a day that changed history.
Thank you so much Gary – Louie and Keith Gordon
