This three-day tour of the Belgian Resistance and SOE begins near Mechelen just north of Brussels where various sites are visited including Fort Breendonk which technically was a Gestapo prison but in actuality was Belgium’s sole concentration camp where political prisoners were held – see above photo. The tour drops into The Ardennes for the second and third days to sites where brave accounts of sabotage took place and later became the battlegrounds of The Bulge. We visit old resistance camps in the woods, parachute drop zones and various memorials. The sabotage sites are some of the largest known where trains were derailed and powerplants blown up. This tour can be extended for more resistance and SOE sites or also be incorporated into my Battle of The Bulge tours. As with all my tours there is plenty of flexibility.
